December 12: Alternating between clear and snowy for the next week

Yesterday’s High This morning’s Low Current 38.9*F 14.0*F 14.5*F This morning, we have only a few clouds in the sky, but this will not last long. Cloud cover will increase throughout the day as a small mass of cold, humid air approaches us. It will be short-lived and not very much impact. Still, peak chances for precipitation are tonight into tomorrow morning. We have a series of small systems coming through the area over the next few days as we will have, clear skies on Saturday chance of snow on Sunday clear skies on Monday chance of snow on Tuesday clear skies on Wednesday After that, the rest of next week is looking pretty clear.

December 5: Inversions right now - clearing this weekend

Yesterday's High This morning's Low 47.5*F 18.0*F We have had a high-pressure system sitting over us for about a week, causing clear skies and warming temperatures throughout the week. As a result, inversions have taken hold across the state. This is very noticeable in other valleys around the state as pollution buildup has been pretty severe. Here in San Pete Valley, we have not had to deal with it as much, but we have had an inversion here as well, it's just not as noticeable because of the lighter traffic here. This weekend, the high-pressure system will be weakened and will allow a mass of cold, humid air to come into our region. As a result, we are looking at some rain on Sunday turning into snow, Sunday evening and Monday. Tuesday, this will clear out and return back to clear skies, but without the high-pressure system. We will have clear skies and cold temperatures for the rest of next week.

December 4: Clear and Moderate Temps - Precip this Weekend

Yesterday's High 48.7*F HDOM This morning's low 18.9*F Yesterday was a clear day with very few clouds in the sky. We were able to reach a high of 48.7*F which is our highest temperature so far this month. We have been under a High Pressure ridge for a few days and will continue to be so for the rest of this week. As a result, we will be looking at similar weather for the next few days. With the cool morning temperatures, there may be some chances for fog in our area in the mornings later in the week, but otherwise we will have clear weather. A small system will dip down from the North. It will reach us on Sunday (forecasts keep changing from Sunday morning to Sunday evening). It should bring some rain and snow, turning into just snow on Monday. But this will be short lived, followed by more clear skies and very cold temperatures.
