Thu, Mar 26 - 8th and final day of our record-breaking streak

High: 86°F Low: 53°F Precip: 0” This morning is about as much of a summer morning as you could ask for. It is absolutely beautiful, warm, only a couple of clouds in the sky, and as pleasant as can be. We are now on the tail end of the high pressure system - enough to still enjoy the pleasant, warm mornings but to start cooling down in the afternoons, which is a pleasant change after 8 straight record-breaking days in a row. This brings an end to the record-breaking streak we have had this week. This will hang around the 70's for the weekend. The bigger change is expected on Tuesday. A large band of cool, humid air will bring rain into our area with high temperatures in the 60'...

Wed, Mar 25 - 7th record high in a row - precip coming!!

High: 83°F Low: 42°F Precip: 0” We are still under a high pressure, experiencing hot, dry conditions with record-breaking heat. Normal Record Snow College MHS KMTI High 56°F 73°F (1998) 83.0°F 85.6°F 83°F Low 31°F 12°F (1965) 41.9°F 40.3°F 37°F Precip 0” 0” 0” 0” 0” We do have some changes coming as some cool air from the North pushes the hot air down to the South. Starting on Thursday, we'll start seeing the temperatures drop by about 10* each day through the weekend. On Monday, a cool, humid airmass will approach our area, bringing chances of rain into our area and cooler temperatures on Tuesday (highs in the 60's!!). A second system will follow on its heals on Thursday. So, the story this week is hot and dry, and the story for next week is cool and wet. On

Tue, Mar 24 - 6 consecutive broken records!!!

High: 78°F Low: 37°F Precip: 0” Yesterday was the 6th day in a row that we have broken the record high temperature! We did have a cold airmass pass by over the weekend which brought some clouds and cooler temperatures for Sunday and Monday.  Although the pronounced high pressure ridge isn't as pronounced as it used to be, we are still definitely feeling its effects and will be for a few days. Which means our run of 6 days of broken records has a potential to become a run of 8 or 9 days of broken records... Normal Record Snow College MHS KMTI High 56°F 72°F (1998) 78.1°F 81.1°F 79°F Low 31°F 11°F (1917) 37.3°F 37.6°F 33°F Precip 0” 0” (1915) 0” 0” 0” This high pressure will continue through the week. We do have a mass of cool air pushing into our area Thursday and Friday, bringing clouds and cooler temperatures once again, similar to what we felt Sunday and Monday. But for the weekend, we'll be back up to our warmer temperatures. Howev...

Fri, Mar 20 - Spring Equinox

High: 85°F Low: 38°F Precip: 0” Welcome to the Spring Equinox! Today, we have equal amounts of daylight and night. From here on out, days will be longer than nights. We have been under a large high pressure. As a result, temperatures have been high enough to break two high temperature records in a row. We will likely break another today and tomorrow with  Normal Record Snow College MHS KMTI High 55°F 75°F (2017) 84.5°F 87.6°F 84°F Low 30°F 9°F (1942) 38.1°F 34.3°F °F Precip 0” 0” (1915) 0” 0” 0” The high pressure will hang around for the next couple of days. However, it will weaken over the weekend with the temperature dropping into the 70's on Sunday and cloud cover for the beginning of next week. There also appears to be a cold airmass forming later next week that could have the potential to drop our temperatures significantly. Models have varied a lot in the last couple of days, so it's still unclear exactly how we'll be impact...

Tue, Mar 17 - High pressure system building

High: 58°F Low: 31°F We have entered into the High Pressure ridge. Most of yesterday morning began with spectacularly cloudy skies, so we had a slow start to the warming. But it started to clear mid-morning and then it started to warm up and we ended up nearing 60°F. This morning, we are starting with clear skies and are gearing up for a hot day approaching 70°F. Normal Record Snow College MHS KMTI High 54°F 72°F (2007) 58.4°F 59.5°F 60°F Low 30°F 12°F (1951) 31.4°F 28.9°F Precip 0.05" 0.51" (1987) 0" 0" 0" The high pressure system continues to build over the Western states. As it does, it will bring warm, tropical air from the South as well as allow clear skies and solar heating to bring temperatures up into the 80's during the second half of the week. Previous record high temperatures are in the mid-70's, so we have an easy potential to break some records this week.

Mon, Mar 16, 2026 - Yesterday: Winter. Tomorrow: Summer.

High: 52°F Low: 27°F Precip: 0” A small system just passed to the north. As a result, it brought some cooler temperatures and some strong winds into our area over the weekend. Normal Record Snow College MHS High 53°F 71°F (2017) 51.7°F 53.4°F Low 30°F 4°F (1962) 26.5°F 26.8°F Precip 0“ 1.02“ (1942) 0“ 0“ With the small system passing, the high pressure ridge will form in full force. As the high pressure ridge will bring clear skies and high temperatures. Temperatures will be around 60 today, around 70 tomorrow, and into the 80's for the rest of the week. The record high temperature for Thursday, March 19, was set in 2017 at a high temperature of 75. So, a forecast into the 80's has the potential to blast multiple records. Something to watch for this week.
