May 5, 2025 - Rain Coming!

Discussion A low pressure system moved into the area Saturday evening, bringing strong winds with gusts up to 35 mph, cool temperatures, and some rain. There were reports of some close lightning in Utah Valley.  This system is going to hang around the area for a few days. We'll expect cloudy skies and chances of thunderstorms all day today and tomorrow. Skies will gradually clear Wednesday as a high pressure system forms over the Western U.S. Thursday will be back to mostly clear skies, looking at warm, pleasant weather for the second half of the week. Discussion The low pressure system we have been dealing with the last couple of days has moved on to the East. As a result, we enjoyed much warmer temperatures and clearer skies tomorrow. Similar conditions will exist for today. However, a trough is digging down from the North. It won't cover Central Utah, but we will be grazed by it as it quickly passes by. A ridge will then form over the Western U.S., bringing higher temperatures into the area for the weekend. Another low pressure system is forming of the West Coast, though. This will bring high winds into our area Sunday with rain and cooler temperatures Sunday evening or Monday morning. The system's strength will die quickly, but the remnants will linger through the week, bringing cloudy skies and moderate temperatures, along with occasional chances for light showers. Forecast Today: 63*F Increasing clouds in the afternoon and a breeze from the west Good chance of rain in the afternoon Tonight: 33*F Partly cloudy through...
