Fri, Mar 20 - Spring Equinox
- High: 85°F
- Low: 38°F
- Precip: 0”
Welcome to the Spring Equinox! Today, we have equal amounts of daylight and night. From here on out, days will be longer than nights.
We have been under a large high pressure. As a result, temperatures have been high enough to break two high temperature records in a row. We will likely break another today and tomorrow with
| Normal | Record | Snow College | MHS | KMTI | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High | 55°F | 75°F (2017) | 84.5°F | 87.6°F | 84°F |
| Low | 30°F | 9°F (1942) | 38.1°F | 34.3°F | °F |
| Precip | 0” | 0” (1915) | 0” | 0” | 0” |
The high pressure will hang around for the next couple of days. However, it will weaken over the weekend with the temperature dropping into the 70's on Sunday and cloud cover for the beginning of next week.
There also appears to be a cold airmass forming later next week that could have the potential to drop our temperatures significantly. Models have varied a lot in the last couple of days, so it's still unclear exactly how we'll be impacted, but it should be enough to bring a little more relief to this heat.
