April 30, 2025 - Trough from the North

Discussion The low pressure system we have been dealing with the last couple of days has moved on to the East. As a result, we enjoyed much warmer temperatures and clearer skies tomorrow. Similar conditions will exist for today. However, a trough is digging down from the North. It won't cover Central Utah, but we will be grazed by it as it quickly passes by. A ridge will then form over the Western U.S., bringing higher temperatures into the area for the weekend. Another low pressure system is forming of the West Coast, though. This will bring high winds into our area Sunday with rain and cooler temperatures Sunday evening or Monday morning. The system's strength will die quickly, but the remnants will linger through the week, bringing cloudy skies and moderate temperatures, along with occasional chances for light showers. Forecast Today: 63*F Increasing clouds in the afternoon and a breeze from the west Good chance of rain in the afternoon Tonight: 33*F Partly cloudy through...

April 28, 2025 - Low Pressure System Came In This Weekend, Still Feeling Effects

Discussion:  A low pressure system moved over our area during the weekend. The most humid part of the system stayed behind and will reach us later. In the meantime, enough came to bring overcast skies, lower temperatures in the valleys, and some rain/snow in the mountain ridges. Forecast:  Cool temperatures will continue to dominate the area with some chances of rain over the next couple of days. On Wednesday, a more humid airmass will approach from the North, bringing further chances for rain later this week. But warm air from the South will push Northward on Friday, bringing clearer skies and warmer temperatures until the next system approaches (probably Sunday). April 25, 2025 - Clear today and tomorrow, Rainy on Sunday

Discussion:  Yesterday, we had a relatively clear day with enough clouds to keep us on the cool side. As a result, the weather has been relatively the same as the last few days. There is, however, a change ahead of us. A low pressure system is forming over the west coast which will come on shore on Sunday. Forecast:  Today will be similar to the last few days, but with some stronger winds due to the approaching low pressure system. Saturday, those winds will continue to build, though the skies will be clearer than earlier this week. The cold front ahead of the low pressure system will impact us on Sunday, bringing high chances of rain mixed with snow on Sunday. The system will continue to bring humid air into our region, bringing chances for rain throughout the week.
