It has been a warm weekend with a high pressure system sitting on top of us. This high pressure brought clear skies and beautiful weather, which explains why we were able to reach temperatures in the low 40's. It also explains the colder temperatures, as we can more easily radiate heat away.

A system that passed South of us over the weekend is pushing northward tonight, bringing more humid air into our region. At the same time, a cold airmass is moving in from the North. The combination of these two make the perfect ingredients for snow tonight and tomorrow. The snow will continue through Wednesday, clearing on Thursday, but the cooler temperatures will persist for the rest of the week.
