Wed, Aug 27 - Most rain this year!

Yesterday we had our rainiest day of the year! We had a handful of days in the spring where we recorded around 0.30" of rain. Yesterday we had 0.38"!

There was even more rain up on the Skyline Ridge. One station shows 0.50" of rain just yesterday, which follows a day of 0.20" the day before. Including precipitation from this morning, that station has received over 3/4"!

Looking at the total amount of rain from June 1 to August 21, we had 0.41". Since August 22, we  have recorded 0.52", more than doubling the total precipitation for the summer. The total is still much smaller than in other years, but we are now back into the normal range of precipitation instead of being an anomaly.

More rain is coming, too. The peak of this system passed us yesterday, but we still have chances of rain today and tomorrow, tapering off into the weekend for a couple of sunny days. But we have more rain coming as a low pressure system forms over the west coast, bringing rain into our area again in the first part of next week.

Day Low (*F) High (*F) Precipitation
Yesterday 38.4 71.0 0.38"
Today 55.0 77 0%
Tomorrow 54 89 0%
