Tue, Mar 17 - High pressure system building
- High: 58°F
- Low: 31°F
We have entered into the High Pressure ridge. Most of yesterday morning began with spectacularly cloudy skies, so we had a slow start to the warming. But it started to clear mid-morning and then it started to warm up and we ended up nearing 60°F.
This morning, we are starting with clear skies and are gearing up for a hot day approaching 70°F.
| Normal | Record | Snow College | MHS | KMTI | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High | 54°F | 72°F (2007) | 58.4°F | 59.5°F | 60°F |
| Low | 30°F | 12°F (1951) | 31.4°F | 28.9°F | |
| Precip | 0.05" | 0.51" (1987) | 0" | 0" | 0" |
The high pressure system continues to build over the Western states. As it does, it will bring warm, tropical air from the South as well as allow clear skies and solar heating to bring temperatures up into the 80's during the second half of the week.
Previous record high temperatures are in the mid-70's, so we have an easy potential to break some records this week.
